Green Campus Campaign Launched at UET Lahore, On the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day, the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore launched the “Green Campus Campaign” under the theme “Independence Day Dedicated to a Green Pakistan”. The tree plantation drive was an integral part of the Independence Day celebrations, organized in collaboration with Zulal-E-Khizar Foundation and the Environment Protection Agency (EPA), during which over one thousand saplings were planted across various parts of the UET campus. Students of IEER also plays a Important role in this plantation drive.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir, inaugurated the campaign by planting a sapling bearing his name. Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Nasir Hayat, Deans, the Registrar, Director of Student Affairs, Public Relations Officer, and heads of various departments also participated by planting trees.

In his address, Dr. Shahid Munir stated, “These plants are not just trees, but life for future generations.” He emphasized that the world is rapidly moving toward climate change, and in such circumstances, tree plantation is a pressing environmental necessity. He urged that every citizen of Pakistan should plant at least one tree to contribute to a greener and healthier country.

He further added that plantation on August 14 is a beautiful and meaningful contribution to the country’s development and prosperity, and a step forward toward a flourishing Pakistan.

At the end of ceremony, foundation presented shields to the Vice Chancellor and other participants of campaign.
